Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADED) and Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) announced a collaboration to simplify regulatory approvals for the food and water industry and promote growth and agricultural water.
According to Amac News: The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI), the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology (MOIAT) and the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment (MoCCAE) will form part of a steering committee that will streamline the necessary approvals to accelerate the status of Abu Dhabi.
Led by ADDED and ADIO, AGWA is set to become a global hub for new food and raw materials as well as technologies that increase access to water resources and enable their efficient use.
The cluster aims to respond to growing global demand, reduce pressure on agricultural systems, address changing dietary patterns, invest in technological advances, and support global food security, ensuring reliable and resilient supply chains for food and water.
Through active participation, efficient licensing and high standards to ensure safe and secure operations, AGWA supports food and water industry pioneers to not only use innovations in alternative proteins, algae and reverse osmosis technologies.
The United Nations report showed that the UAE achieved an average score of 100% in the provision of drinking water and sanitation services and 80% in the integrated management of water resources.
