Indian Seafood Export Development Authority (MPEDA) chairman DV Swamy has announced that the UAE has become India's ninth seafood export destination.
According to Amac News: Swamy said that India's seafood exports to the world have reached their highest level in the financial year 2023-2024.
During the fiscal year 2023-2024, India shipped 1.78 million metric tons of seafood worth US$ 7.38 billion to India.
Frozen shrimp remained the UAE's largest export to India in terms of quantity and value.
The top 10 markets collectively accounted for 79.89% of India's seafood exports in USD terms in FY 2023-24.
MPEDA, established by an Act of the Parliament of India in 1972, is a statutory body primarily tasked with promoting the export of Indian marine products.
