The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan published a newsletter saying that Nooruddin Azizi, acting head of the ministry, met with a number of Uzbek officials.
According to Amac News: The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan has said that Nuruddin Azizi met with Jamshid Khajayev, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, in the presence of the ministers of investment, industry and trade, energy, transportation, mining, water resources and customs officials of that country.
It is stated in the newsletter of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Afghanistan that the ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan residing in Afghanistan was also present in this meeting.
Based on the news, in this meeting between the two sides, there were discussions regarding the expansion of trade and transit relations, the balancing of trade between the two countries based on a one-sided preferential trade agreement in favor of Afghanistan, the conclusion of investment and transit agreements, and the finalization of the quarantine memorandum between the two countries.
The newsletter stated that the cooperation in the railway sector and the transmission of the Surkhan Pul Khomri power line were discussed and the establishment of a trade house between the two countries was one of the other issues that were discussed and agreed upon in this meeting.
