Amac News: The meeting was held in Doha, Qatar, the UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure said in a statement.
Sharif Al Olama, Deputy Minister of Energy and Petroleum Affairs of the Ministry of Intelligence, highlighted the role of the Committee in strengthening coordination and integrity in the energy and water sectors of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
He noted that the UAE is committed to building regional synergies in these sectors to help achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and meet future needs.
He said the UAE relies heavily on wastewater treatment plants to meet its water needs. There are more than 140 sewage treatment plants besides private sector treatment plants.
