According to Amac News: The announcement states that the seventh Cairo Water Week, coinciding with the ninth African Water Week, has been a key milestone for the United Arab Emirates and Senegal in preparation for the UN Water Conference in 2026.
One of the key interactions included a high-level meeting organized by the governments of Egypt, Senegal and the United Arab Emirates on "Aspirations for the 2026 UN Water Conference".
The ministers of Iraq, Nigeria, Senegal and South Africa and high-ranking representatives of the governments of Japan, the Netherlands and the European Union were present in this meeting. Key non-governmental actors also participated in the meeting.
Participants shared their overall vision for the conference's priorities and anticipated outcomes, all of which emphasized water as a fundamental driver of sustainable development.
Other UAE engagements included participation in meetings on climate issues that highlighted COP28's efforts to promote water on the climate agenda.
