The Central Bank of the United Arab Emirates (CBUAE) has announced that Bank Indonesia (BI) has signed a cooperation agreement aimed at creating a framework to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the field of payment systems.

According to Amac News: The Central Bank of the UAE said that this agreement is part of the recent visit of the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, to the United Arab Emirates.
According to the Central Bank of the Emirates, the purpose of this agreement is to link the payment systems between the two countries to facilitate faster, more efficient, more transparent and more cost-effective cross-border payments, which will ultimately support the economic development of both countries.
The Central Bank of the Emirates further stated that it will create a common mechanism for proper risk management, facilitate regulatory cooperation and protect the rights and interests of users in accordance with applicable laws and regulations in each country.
