The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI) has announced that it has launched the second round of Research and Innovation Awards to accelerate the development of innovative solutions to energy, water, infrastructure, transport and housing challenges.

According to Amac News: The Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure (MOEI) said that this award covers five key areas, including energy solutions for a better future, water security and sustainability, future cities, revolution on wheels and the era of housing.
According to the ministry, this award targets the participation of the public sector, the private sector, universities and research and development centers, startups, individual researchers and experts, and young innovators.
The committee has set September 30 2024, as the deadline for submission. Winners will be announced and awarded in February 2025.
Hassan al-Mansouri, the vice president of infrastructure and transportation affairs of the Ministry of Information, said that the research and innovation award is held with the support of the Ministry of Science with the aim of encouraging researchers and innovators to design future models of government work and develop groundbreaking and tangible solutions for challenges in the target sectors.
He added that the award will attract the participation of researchers from around the world and emphasize the UAE's position as a leading international hub for innovation and excellence.
