Amac News: The session was attended by Abdulrahman bin Mohammed Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention and Minister of State for FNC Affairs, and Mohamed Hadi Al Hussaini, Minister of State for Financial Affairs.
Al Hussaini stated that the Union General Budget, approved by the Federal Cabinet, totals 71.5 billion AED in revenues and 71.5 billion AED in estimated expenditures, maintaining a balanced approach between income and spending. This federal budget is reported to be the largest in the history of the UAE.
The 2025 budget is allocated across key sectors such as social development, government affairs, and economic affairs, along with other federal expenditures.
Of the total federal budget, 27.859 billion AED, representing 39%, is dedicated to the social development sector, which takes the largest share of the budget. This includes 9.990 billion AED (15.3%) allocated to public and higher education programs, 5.505 billion AED for healthcare and community prevention services, and 8.956 billion AED for social care.
Additionally, 1.288 billion AED is allocated to culture and arts, 660 million AED to housing, 8.126 billion AED to defense affairs, 8.179 billion AED to public affairs and safety, 2.523 billion AED to economic affairs, and 23.431 billion AED to public services.
During the session, Marwan Obaid Al Muhairi and Mira Sultan Al Suwaidi were elected as observers of the Federal National Council by acclamation.
