According to Amac News: ADAFSA said in the celebration of World Honey Bee Day, which is held every year on May 20, that it has raised and produced more than 2,693 queen bees from the ninth generation of UAE bee queens in March alone.
ADAFSA has continued its distribution efforts and has provided 2,283 9th generation queens to local beekeepers.
The goal is to produce 3,000 queens during the breeding season (March to mid-May 2024) and another 2,300 queens during the breeding season (October to mid-November 2024). This results in the production of 5300 queens from the 9th generation of UAE honey bee queens.
The organization revealed that from 2016 to 2023, 13,217 queens were produced from eight generations of Emirati honeybees, of which 10,703 queens were distributed to beekeepers across the country.
ADAFSA has also produced a special booklet on beekeeping and honey production for children, which aims to teach honey making and terminology related to bees and hives.
