According to Amac News; Zamir Kabulov, the special representative of the Russian president for Afghanistan affairs, said in a press conference on Wednesday, June 5, that Moscow supports Afghanistan's membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization, established by the countries of the region including Russia and China, is an important regional organization in the field of political and economic cooperation.
TASS news agency quoted Mr. Kabulov as saying that if the current government of Afghanistan is recognized, this support from Moscow will be fruitful.
He said: If the Taliban, which is currently illegal in Russia, is recognized, Moscow will support the country's joining the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan welcomed this action of Moscow and said that they expect the countries of the region to take steps towards expanding political and economic relations with the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
At the same time, Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesman of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, said: These are positive steps that are being taken, and the only solution to the problems between Afghanistan and the countries of the region is economic and economic development. China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Iran, India and Pakistan are official and permanent members of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, Afghanistan and four other countries have been invited as observers in the meetings of this organization.
