The Korea Automobile Importers and Distributors Association (KAIDA) announced that the number of diesel cars imported into the Republic of Korea has decreased by more than 60 percent since the beginning of this year, and its market share has reached its lowest level in the last 20 years.

According to Amac News: According to the data of this association, in the period from January to October, the number of diesel car imports reached 6,740 units, which shows a 65.1% decrease compared to the same period last year.
In October alone, this number decreased by 58.7% compared to last year and reached 643 devices. Furthermore, during this period, the share of imported diesel cars is only 3.1% of all imported cars, which is the lowest market share since 2004.
It should be noted that the market share of diesel car imports in Korea reached its peak in 2015, i.e. 69%, and before that it crossed the 20% and 30% mark in 2009 and 2011.
