The United Arab Emirates has announced that it has become the latest member of the Paris-based International Center for International Standard Serial Numbers (ISSN) of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
According to Amac News: NLA has announced the signing of an agreement with (MoU) for membership in ISSN International Center with the coordination and support of the National Commission for Education, Culture and Science of the UAE.
Abdullah Majid Al Ali, director general of NLA, said that the standardization of publications published in the United Arab Emirates with ISSN guarantees the standardization of intellectual production in the country.
Dr. Gael Beckett, director of the ISSN International Center, emphasized the need for further cooperation between the two sides, and added that this agreement is a turning point in the path of relations between the two sides and a proof of the common vision and commitment.
He emphasized that this agreement is to achieve results that satisfy both parties in terms of inventory and cataloging of publications published in the UAE, which in turn will enrich the knowledge of readers and researchers.
