In the first hours of 2025, the transfer of natural gas from Russia to Europe through the territory of Ukraine was stopped. This stop happened due to the end of the transit agreement between the two countries and the inability of Moscow and Kiev to reach a new agreement in the current war.

The United Arab Emirates and Ukraine finalized and signed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between the two countries.
