According to Amac News, the shipment included 40 containers of sugar and 6 wagons of cement, which were loaded from Bandar Abbas and arrived at Roznak station in Herat after crossing the Iranian railway.
According to the CEO of the Rail Development Consortium, this was the first transit shipment from the UAE via this route, weighing 1,200 tons.
In recent weeks, a train has entered Afghanistan through this crossing almost every day, and construction cement accounts for a major part of these transfers.
The reasons for the prosperity of this rail route in the winter season include the allocation of a fixed locomotive in Afghanistan, the use of a professional commercial team and movement at Roznak station, the extensive cooperation of the Iranian Railways, and trust-building among Afghan traders.
