The annual meeting of the Asia Pacific Group on Anti-Money Laundering (APG) 2024 has concluded in Abu Dhabi.
2024 Annual Anti-Money Laundering Meeting Ends
According to Amac News: The meeting was attended by 450 delegates from different regions.
The goal of the meeting was to increase efforts to combat financial crime across the Asia-Pacific region.
This is the first time that the APG Annual Summit will be held in the Middle East and North Africa region.
The United Arab Emirates, the first Arab country to join the APG as an observer.
The gathering highlights the global nature of financial crime and the UAE is committed to working with international partners to protect the global financial system from exploitation.
At this year's APG annual meeting, five cross-assessment reports were adopted: the Nauru, Marshall Islands, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste and the FATF/APG/EAG joint assessment of India.
APG members also discussed key strategic and governance issues to ensure APG's continued success in the years ahead.
