UAE Invests to Support Ghana’s Biodiversity and Climate Goals
According to Amac News: The UAE said in a statement that Minister of Climate Change and Environment Amna bint Abdullah Al Dahak Al Shamsi and Ghana's Minister of Lands and Natural Resources  Samuel A. Jinapor signed the agreement in the presence of UN High Commissioner for Climate Change Razan Khalifa Al Mubarak.
Dr. Amna Al Dahak Al-Shamsi said the UAE’s partnership with Ghana is a testament to the UAE’s focus on biodiversity, climate and global development goals.
she said the UAE's investment in Ghana would not only strengthen the country's forestry efforts, but also have a broader positive impact on local communities.
The UAE and partners mobilized more than $2 billion in funding for nature-climate projects and programs for Ghana’s Resilient Ghana Strategy.
Both Ghana and the UAE are members of the Organization for Forests and Climate Leaders, a mechanism for coordinating public and private investment.
The UAE and Ghana will detail some of the initial projects under their bilateral partnership at COP29 in Baku in November and at COP30 next year.
