China National Offshore Oil Company (CNOOC) announced the recent discovery of the largest metamorphic rock oil field in Bohai Sea.
The Bohai 26-6 oil field, located about 170 kilometers from Tianjin Municipality, has recently confirmed record oil and gas reserves, Amac reported, citing China Central Television.
These newly established reserves are more than 40 million cubic meters, contributing to the field's total proven reserves, which now exceed 200 million cubic meters.
During exploratory drilling, engineers discovered a layer of oil and gas at a depth of 118 meters. It is expected that the average daily production of oil will exceed 390 cubic meters and gas production will exceed 50 thousand cubic meters.
