According to
Amac News: Citing Qatar News Agency (QNA) and based on the statistics published by the Qatar Planning and Statistics Department, the total value of Qatar's exports in the third quarter of 2024 (including exports of domestic goods and exports) reached 87.8 billion Rials, which is It has decreased by 2.0 billion rials (2.2%) for the same period last year. But this figure has increased by almost 2.8 billion rials or 3.3% compared to the second quarter of 2024.
The decrease in exports in the third quarter of 2024 was mainly due to the decrease in the export of mineral fuels, lubricants and related materials by 5.0 billion Rials (6.5%) and various manufactured articles by 0.1 billion Rials (22.0%).
Instead, increases in exports of chemicals and related products by 1.5 billion Rials (24.5%), machinery and transport equipment by 1.2 billion Rials (53.3%), manufactured goods mainly based on materials by 0.4 billion Rials (17.1 %) and inedible raw materials in the amount of 0.1 billion rials (24.8%) were registered.
The value of Qatar's imports in the third quarter of 2024 reached 30.1 billion rials, which compared to the import of 28.9 billion rials in the third quarter of 2023, increased by 1.2 billion rials (4.1%) and decreased by almost 0.3 billion rials or 1.1% compared to the second quarter of 2024.
The increase in imports in the third quarter of 2024 is mainly due to the increase in machinery and transport equipment by 0.8 billion Rials (6.7%), chemicals and related products by 0.4 billion Rials (17.2%), mineral fuels and related materials by 0.32 billion Rials (58.2%) and food and live animals in the amount of 0.30 billion Rials (9.8%).
On the other hand, decreases in various manufactured goods by 0.4 billion Rials (6.7%) and manufactured goods mainly based on materials by 0.3 billion Rials (7.7%) were recorded.
In the third quarter of 2024, Asia was recognized as the main destination of Qatar's exports and the first source of imports of this country, which accounted for 75.9% and 39.7%, respectively.
The countries of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) are 11.6% and 11.3%, respectively, and the European Union is also in this field with 7.7% and 26.0%.
