The Abu Dhabi Chess Federation announced that Abu Dhabi will host the 100th anniversary celebration of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) at Marina Mall.

According to the announcement, Abu Dhabi was chosen as the venue for the centenary celebrations as the city has become the capital of global sporting events and increased its position after winning the bid to host the 2028 World Chess Olympiad.
Abu Dhabi is hosting the final stop of the FIDE100 torch before traveling to Hungary next month to coincide with the 45th Chess Olympiad 2024 in Budapest from 10 to 23 September 2024.
As part of the celebrations, the Abu Dhabi Chess and Mind Games Club is organizing a photo exhibition showcasing the history of the sport and the diversity of chess practitioners.
