The 26th edition of the Arabian Gulf Football Cup, also known as the Gulf Cup, officially kicked off on Saturday evening, December 21, at a ceremony held at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait.

According to Amac News: Eight teams from the Gulf Arab countries, including Iraq, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar and the UAE, will participate in the tournament, which is scheduled to run until January 3, 2025.
The event began with a speech by Kuwait's Emir, Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, followed by the playing of the Kuwaiti national anthem, according to Kuwait's KUNA news agency.
During the ceremony, a vivid depiction of life in the Arabian Gulf was shown, highlighting Kuwait and its neighboring countries' historical ties to the sea, a vital source of livelihood for past generations.
The desert lifestyle, symbolized by the camel, was also depicted, in line with the tournament's slogan, "The Future is in the Gulf." The artistic performances depicted the cultural heritage of the "Arabian Gulf" in a way that combined traditional elements with modern artistic interpretations.
It is worth mentioning that the tournament is titled "Arabian Gulf Football Cup" and is popularly referred to as "Khaleeji Zain 26" due to sponsorship reasons.
