According to Amac News: Al-Hashemi was elected as the president of the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Union for another term during the annual general meeting and the 8th Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship.
The meeting, which was held in Abu Dhabi, was attended by Panagiotis Theodoropoulos, President of the Jiu-Jitsu International Federation (JJIF), Joachim Thumfart, Director-General of JJIF, representatives of the Olympic Council of Asia, JJAU board members and heads of national federations from all over Asia.
In this meeting, Tariq AlBahri was elected as the deputy secretary general and treasurer of Reda Monfaradi Union, the president of the Bahrain Jiu-Jitsu Federation as the first vice-president, along with five regional vice-presidents from Mongolia, Thailand, Iraq, Kazakhstan and India.
The meeting also discussed plans to develop the sport across the continent, including referee training programs, anti-doping efforts, support for national federations, continental championships, indoor games and martial arts Asia 2024.
In the annual meeting of the General Assembly of the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Union, 30 of the 33 members of this assembly participated.
