Also, this festival aims to introduce the citizens of Sharjah and visitors to the unique beauty of African literature and its vital role in enriching the global cultural landscape.
During this festival, 29 publishers from Africa and the UAE will gather, including Nobel Prize winners, Abdul Razak Gorna and Wole Soyinka.
The festival features 12 interactive workshops for young visitors, including African jewelry making, pottery, folklore storytelling sessions and African storytelling stones.
Also, those interested in cooking can benefit from four cooking sessions led by Chef Lilian Elidah and Nigerian writers, Uzuz Sokoh and Wana Udobang, and get to know African culinary traditions.
The festival also includes traveling performances and music shows that offer visitors a glimpse into African rhythms and melodies, emphasizing the essence of traditional music, including Sudanese pentatonic melodies and Afro-Arabic musical fusions.
On January 26, there will be a special performance by South African opera singer Anne Massina, who will combine the art of opera with the live sounds of South Africa.
