The first edition of the Sharjah Literature Festival was officially opened by Badour Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Book Council and Honorary President of the Emirates Publishers Association.

According to Amac News: This five-day event is held under the slogan "Emirati stories inspire the future" and its aim is to showcase Emirati literary creativity and strengthen the UAE's position as a living center of literature and culture.
The festival provides a platform for the exchange of views and ideas among local literary and cultural figures. This event also provides a key opportunity to support Emirati publishers and further strengthen the country's publishing sector.
Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Book Council, said at the event: "By connecting the past with the present, this festival promotes the transformative power of literature to inspire progress and cultural dialogue."
The festival offers participants an opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of local poetry and Emirati tunes. Visitors can enjoy 20 cultural programs, eight workshops and five musical performances daily.
The festival also includes five unique shopping and dining experiences from more than 10 diverse restaurants.
The event brings together renowned literary writers from across the UAE and provides a platform for creative dialogue and literary innovation.
