According to Amac News: ADGM said that starting January 1, 2025, it will apply a major reduction of 50% or more to obtain non-financial and retail licenses in its jurisdiction.
This initiative aims to enhance the ADGM business ecosystem, making it more attractive and accessible to various companies.
Under the revised fee schedule, new registrations in the non-financial business category will see fees drop from US$10,000 to US$5,000.
In contrast, the annual license renewal fee for the same category will be reduced from $8,000 to $5,000.
Retail category costs have also been significantly reduced, with new registration fees reduced by two-thirds from $6,000 to $2,000.
License renewals for the retail category will also see a 50 percent reduction, bringing the annual renewal fee down to $2,000.
The effective date of the revised license fees is set for January 1, 2025, to coincide with the expiration of the current transition period, which ends on December 31, 2024.
The new fee structure will apply across ADGM's jurisdiction, including Al Maryah and Al Reem Island.
The introduction of these fee revisions is in line with a series of consultations held in 2023 by ADGM with a focus group of Al Reem Island businesses to gather feedback and insights on expanding ADGM's jurisdiction.
The previously introduced fee exemption for eligible non-financial and retail businesses located on El Rim Island expires on October 31, 2024.
Fee revisions for other categories include changes to the fee structure in the finance category, an increase from $15,000 to $20,000 and a renewal increase from $13,000 to $15,000 for the annual ADGM license.
The full fee schedule, which will apply to new business registrations and license renewals from January 1, 2025, will be published in December.
