According to Amac News: This office added that 90 percent of the victims of this incident were children, 50 percent of whom were killed while playing.
Based on the report of this United Nations body, in 2023, 89% of the victims of mines and explosives in Afghanistan were children.
This institution has added that since 1989, when the Soviet forces left Afghanistan, 45 thousand people have been killed due to the explosion of mines and remnants of wartime explosives.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid in Afghanistan has warned that the lack of financial resources for the mine clearance program in 2024 has put the lives of about 3.4 million people at risk.
