The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum of Afghanistan has announced in a newsletter that the practical mining of Aynak copper mine has been opened in Mohammad Agha district of Logar province.
According to Amac News: The Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has stated in its newsletter that the practical work of Aynak Logar copper mining has been started by Hedayatullah Badri, the head of the ministry.
The Aynak copper project contract was signed by the previous administration with the Chinese company "MCC" in 2008, and today the practical work of its extraction begins.
The Acting Director of the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum called the mining of Aynak copper mine useful for the countrymen in terms of job opportunities and assured that all mining works of this mine will be done according to the bill and standards of this ministry.
Aynak copper mine in Mohammad Agha district of Logar province is the second copper mine of its kind in the world.
