Akhundzadeh added that this year's statistics show a 33% increase in the production and export of handwoven carpets and rugs in the country compared to the first five months of the previous year.
He stated that from the beginning of this year until May, Afghan carpets worth more than 7.5 million dollars have been exported to Turkey, America, United Arab Emirates, Italy, Uzbekistan, India, Germany, Pakistan, China and other countries. Is.

Haidari considered banking restrictions, high price of raw materials, non-holding of international exhibitions, obtaining visas for businessmen as major problems in the carpet industry and asked the government to pay serious attention to this issue.
Gholam Ali Jamshidi, the deputy of the board of directors of the Afghanistan Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Union, in a conversation with Afghan News Agency, expressed his satisfaction with the holding of exhibitions of domestic products in the country and abroad during the last two years and said that the Carpet Manufacturers and Exporters Union gained in these exhibitions. And they have had good sales.
Mr. Jamshidi asked the government to hold more exhibitions and said that one of the ways to market and introduce domestically produced goods, especially carpets, is to hold exhibitions at the national and international level.
He emphasized that most families use imported and machine-made carpets and do not know the quality of domestic handwoven carpets, and holding exhibitions is a good way to know domestic products, including carpets.
Officials of the Afghan Carpet Producers and Exporters Union say that in 1402, the production of hand-woven carpets and rugs in the country was more than one million square meters.
Carpet weaving in Afghanistan is one of the oldest and most important handicrafts that many citizens of the country are engaged in. Carpet weavers weave carpets by hand, and this art, which has been passed down from generation to generation since ancient times, is still preserved in its very old form in Afghanistan.
