According to
Amac News, Nangarhar governor’s media office announced in a press release on Sunday, March 2, that the meeting discussed increasing the movement of patients, facilitating the transfer of commercial goods, and the reopening of the Torkham border.
It is worth noting that the Torkham border crossing in eastern Afghanistan has been closed by Pakistan for nine days.
These talks are taking place while, according to unconfirmed reports, Pakistani and Afghan border guards have clashed.
A number of media outlets reported this morning that Pakistani border guards opened fire on Afghan border guards late at night.
Three Pakistani border guards were reportedly injured in the clashes.
So far, local officials of the caretaker government in Nangarhar province have not commented on the matter.
