According to Amac News: Farhad Mahmoudi, the head of programs of the Ministry of Energy and Water of Afghanistan, said that he is in contact with the World Bank about the Casa-1000 electricity transmission project and the practical work will begin soon.
He said that agreements have been made with the World Bank and this project will start soon and be completed by 2026.
The director of programs of the Ministry of Energy and Water of Afghanistan added that with the implementation of this plan, Afghanistan will earn 65 million dollars annually from electricity transit to Pakistan.
The World Bank said that all construction payments for the CASA-1000 project will be managed outside of Afghanistan and away from the country's administrative systems.
The CASA-1000 project, which transmits electricity from Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan to Pakistan through Afghanistan, was inaugurated in Tajikistan in 2016.
This electricity transmission line, which has a capacity of 500 kilowatts, will pass through seven provinces of Afghanistan to reach Pakistan and light up thousands of houses on its way.
