United Arab Emirates Telecommunication Operators announced that it has entered into a partnership with United Arab Emirates Telecommunication Company P.J.S.C. (du) paid to Emirates as federal royalties.

According to Amac News: e& and du said that they paid 3.54 billion dirhams in federal royalties to the UAE government in the first half of this year.
The report stated that the amount paid as royalties to the federal government in the same period last year was 3.73 billion dirhams.
According to the financial results announced by the two companies on financial market websites, the total royalties payable by e& Group in the first half reached 2.749 billion dirhams compared to 2.75 billion dirhams in the first half of 2023.
The report states that while in the first half of 2024, an amount of 797.6 million dirhams was paid compared to 978.9 million dirhams in the same half of last year.
According to the report, from 2012 to 2023, the royalties paid by the two telecom operators was 90.3 billion dirhams (70.6 billion dirhams by e& and 19.7 billion dirhams by the two companies).
e& and du announced in November 2023 that they had received royalty guidelines for the local telecom sector issued by the Ministry of Finance for January 2024 to December 2026.
A federal royalty rate of 38% applies to the total UAE adjusted and unregulated net profit for both e& and du, as well as a royalty and corporate tax rate of 9% on profits.
For e&, the total annual amount of royalty and corporate tax should not be less than 5.7 billion dirhams. On the other hand, the total amount of royalties and corporate tax payable by du shall not be less than 1.8 billion dirhams per year.
