Officials in Afghanistan's National Statistics and Information Department say that the country's exports decreased by 3.7 percent last year.

According to Amac News: Esmatullah Hakimi, head of the deputy directorate of statistics and information, said that the reason for the decrease in Afghanistan's exports last year is the export of minerals, especially coal.
He stated that based on the findings of this department, the gross production of Afghanistan reached 17.23 billion dollars last year, which shows an increase of 2.7 percent compared to the previous year.
In this program, the deputy head of the National Statistics and Information Department said that according to the information of this department, about 2 million and 23 thousand hectares of wheat land were cultivated last year, and its production has increased by 14.4% compared to the previous year.
According to him, grain production last year was about 5 million 206 metric tons and cotton production was 122 thousand 455 metric tons, which shows an increase of 13.2 and 68.9 percent, respectively, compared to the previous year, and Afghanistan's exports in the sector Dried fruits and fresh vegetables have increased.
This official of Afghanistan's National Statistics and Information Department added that the population of Afghanistan this year is estimated to be 35 million 800 thousand people, of which 18 million 200 thousand are men and 17 million 500 thousand are women.
According to Hakimi, according to this statistic, 9 million and 200 thousand people live in cities and another 25 million in rural areas of Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, Faqir Mohammad Zayar, head of Afghanistan's National Statistics and Information Department, said that last year, this department distributed 3,265,600 electronic ID cards, which shows a 23% increase compared to the previous year.
Zayar added that 7.8 million electronic ID cards have been distributed in Afghanistan since the beginning of this process, and the total number of electronic ID cards distributed has reached 13 million and 868 thousand.
