According to Amac News: Abdul Ghani Baradar, Economic Deputy of the Prime Minister, during the operation of the fourth port of the Hairatan-Mazar-Sharif railway in Nayeb-Abad, Balkh province, said that the construction of this port and the connection of the railway line is one of the main factors of Afghanistan's development.
Baradar added that traders can transfer their goods from Hairatan-Mazar Sharif railway line with less cost and time, and this line has reduced the distance by 50 kilometers compared to the previous line.
During the inauguration of this port, Esmatullah Arirkash, the special representative of the president of Uzbekistan, said that the construction of the Nayeb-Abad railway station once again showed that Uzbekistan stands by Afghanistan to strengthen the relations between the two countries.
Economic experts say that if this railway line is extended to the border of Iran, Afghanistan, as a bridge between the Persian Gulf countries and the countries of Central Asia, can have billions of dollars in transit revenues every year.
The route of the Hairatan-Mazar-e-Sharif railway from Safari point to the fifth port is 106 km long, which connects the country of Uzbekistan with the province of Balkh in the north of Afghanistan through the railway line.
