The Ministry of Rural Development and Rehabilitation of Afghanistan said that the initial works of corridor Wakhan, which include road construction, digging and gravelling, have been completed.
According to Amac News: Najibullah Haroon, the spokesman of the Ministry of Rural Development and Rehabilitation of Afghanistan, said in a conversation with the media that the construction of this corridor started last year from Bezai Gonbad area of Wakhan district and now it has reached the zero point of the Chinese border.
According to Haroun, this corridor that connects Badakhshan to Yarkand, China is 50 kilometers long and its construction cost 369 million afghanis.
Meanwhile, the Chamber of Commerce and Investment considered the connection of Afghanistan to China through this corridor important and said that this will expand the economic and commercial relations of the country.
Khairuddin Mail, the commercial vice president of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said that the construction of corridor Wakhan will allow Afghanistan to export the mined mineral raw materials to China and import commercial goods from there.
