Dubai Real Estate Holdings has announced that Nakheel, a member of pioneering Real Estate Division of Dubai Holdings, has awarded Jan De Nul Dredging LTD an AED 810 million contract for offshore works at Palm Jebel Ali.
According to Amac News: Dubai Real Estate Holdings announced that the company, which is part of Jan De Nul International Group, will be responsible for dredging, land reclamation, beach profiling and sand placement.
Jan De Nul Dredging is expected to complete the entire offshore activity area at Palm Jebel Ali in less than two years, the announcement said.
It is expected that the first eight parts of this project will be ready by the first quarter of 2025 and enable the start of villa infrastructure and construction operations.
Following the awarding of two major infrastructure contracts by Nakheel, work has also begun on a new public access road that will provide access from Sheikh Zayed Road in addition to road and lighting improvements from the mainland to Palm Jebel Ali.
In line with the vision of the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040, The Palm Jebel Ali is set to become a global destination offering residents the opportunity to experience a luxurious waterfront lifestyle with access to sweeping beaches and pristine waters.
Last year, Palm Jebel Ali launched more than 700 units of its Phase 1 Friend Villas, featuring eight unique styles that combine indoor and outdoor living in a tranquil beach setting.
Advances in infrastructure and marine works will directly support the delivery of these homes, which are scheduled for delivery in late 2026, enhancing Palm Jebel Ali's vision as a premier residential and leisure destination.
The island will eventually be 13.4 km wide, with 16 branches and 91 km of beach, which is in line with Dubai's 2040 Urban Master Plan to expand access to public beaches.
Nakheel's projects form an iconic collection of premier communities and residential developments that are critical to the realization of Dubai's vision.
