Emirates Group honored the commitment of Emirati women to the growth of the UAE aviation industry
According to Amac News: Emirates Group's announcement states that Emirati women are forging career paths in a variety of business functions at Emirates Group, laying the foundations for a talent pipeline to support the next generation of aviation professionals.
Approximately 38 percent of the group's Emirati workforce is women, and last financial year, the organization welcomed more Emirati women into its workforce, the announcement said.
This reinforces Emirates Group's commitment to integrate Emirati women into the growing UAE aviation sector, where they are empowered with the right skills, competencies and expertise, allowing them to thrive and reach their full potential, according to the statement. achieve
Emirates Group also marked another milestone this year, achieving a 20% year-on-year increase in the number of Emirati women appointed to leadership roles. Today, more than 200 Emirati women hold leadership positions in the organization, contributing to growth across a wide range of business functions.
In March 2024, Emirates Group announced the promotion of five Emirati female leaders to senior executive positions in key human resources and business support departments.
From senior managers to center managers and even department heads, the group continues to equip Emirati women with industry-leading resources to enhance their leadership skills and grow their career prospects.
For the past 20 years, Emirates Group has provided training and mentoring programs for Emirati female professionals to enhance their professional growth and career mobility with access to leadership programs including Rolls-Royce and Airbus Leadership Programs, General Electric Aviation Program, etc.
Emirati women in leadership positions at Emirates Group also have the opportunity to enroll in the INSEAD Women Leaders Program, empowering them to lead with impact and create lasting professional change through their leadership journey.
More than 70 Emirati women have completed one or more of these programs in the past 12 months. Last year, Emirates also sponsored three female Emirati employees to pursue postgraduate studies abroad at three of the top 100 universities worldwide.
Last year, Emirates Group also signed a number of strategic partnerships with UAE-based and international organizations including Nafis, Microsoft, Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) and PwC Academy to provide customized training and development programs for the Group's Emirati workforce.
Through these programs, Emirati women are provided with additional tools and resources that support their career advancement and increase their workforce participation.
The Emirates Group is also a launch partner of the Aurora50 women's network initiative, NOORA, and has signed the UAE Gender Balance Council pledge, strengthening its commitment to the representation and advancement of women in the organization.
