IATA announced an increase in the total demand for air cargo
According to Amac News: In the IATA announcement, it is stated that the total demand, which is measured in cargo ton-kilometer (CTK), has increased by 13.6% compared to July 2023 (14.3% for international traffic).
This is the eighth straight month of double-digit year-over-year growth, and totals have reached levels not seen since the record highs of 2021.
According to the announcement, capacity increased by 8.3 percent compared to last year's 10.1 percent for international operations. This increased to 12.8% due to strength in passenger markets, offsetting a 6.9% increase in international transport capacity.
The increase in stomach capacity was the lowest in 40 months, while growth in carrying capacity was the highest since the exceptional increase in January 2024.
