Sheikh Shakhbut gave a speech on behalf of the United Arab Emirates, in which he appreciated the efforts of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania during the presidency of the 49th Summit in 2023.
In a speech, Sheikh Shakhbut emphasized the UAE's firm belief in the importance of maintaining peace and security through investing in creating national awareness among communities that strengthens the values ​​of tolerance and coexistence.
He added that it will promote the position of the UAE as a leading country in the fields of peace, tolerance and humanitarian initiatives at both the regional and international levels.
Sheikh Shakhbut stressed the need to intensify efforts to immediately stop the war in the Gaza Strip and avoid the conflict from spreading to dangerous new levels of instability.
Sheikh Shakhbut emphasized that the United Arab Emirates ranks first as the largest donor of humanitarian aid to Gaza, and the country's aid accounts for 33% of all humanitarian aid sent to the Gaza Strip.
Regarding the situation in Sudan, he expressed the UAE's deep concern about the catastrophic and worsening human situation and severe food insecurity, which has reached the level of famine in several regions.
Sheikh Shakhbut called on the parties to the conflict to allow the immediate, safe, sustainable and unimpeded delivery of urgent humanitarian aid to civilians in need, based on UN Security Council Resolution 2736 (2024).
