Abbas Karimi, an athlete of Afghan origin, won a silver medal and became the runner-up in the Paris Paralympic team freestyle swimming competition.
According to Amac News: This swimmer from Afghanistan, who competes as part of the USA para swimming team, was able to surpass the teams of Brazil and Spain and become the runner-up yesterday (August 30).
Mr. Karimi competed in the 4 x 50 meters mixed (team) freestyle swimming competition at the Paris Paralympic Games.
Karimi is going to compete in the 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly at the Paris Paralympic Games on September 5th and 6th of this year.
Meanwhile, on Thursday, Zakia Khudadadi, the daughter of an Afghan taekwondo player, managed to win a bronze medal in the Paralympic Games for the first time in the country's history.
