According to the statistics of the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), in 2023, the tourism sector accounted for 11.7% of the UAE's GDP, which was a total of 220 billion dirhams, and is expected to reach 12% or 236 billion in 2024. dirham to increase.
The WTTC predicts that the contribution of travel and tourism to the UAE's GDP will reach around 275.2 dirhams by 2034, supported by the country's world-class infrastructure, which includes airports and accommodation, as well as exciting tourist attractions. It is exciting.
The data shows that Dubai received 10.62 million tourists in the first seven months of 2024, an increase of 8% compared to the previous year.
Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi hotels had more than 2.87 million guests in the first half of 2024, generating 3.6 billion dirhams, a 19.5% increase over last year.
