The Ministry of Human Resources of the UAE has announced that Abdul Rahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources of the UAE, Acting Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, participated in the 10th meeting of BRICS Ministers of Labor and Employment, which took place on Tuesday in Sochi, Russia.

According to Amac News: In the announcement of the Ministry of Human Resources, it is stated that this two-day meeting addressed the key issues of priority and recent developments that shape the global labor markets.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Secretary General of the International Social Security Association (ISSA), representatives of employers and workers in the Russian Federation, as well as labor ministers and heads of BRICS delegations.
In this meeting, the member countries appreciated the efforts made to facilitate dialogue and cooperation among the BRICS member countries in order to promote sustainable work practices.
The UAE Minister of Human Resources emphasized his country's commitment to creating a competitive knowledge-based labor market, in line with its goals and vision for a diverse knowledge economy.
He said the UAE government has allocated 16 percent of the federal budget to education in 2024.
He emphasized the urgent need for dynamic career guidance and lifelong professional training, which has become vital amid rapid transformations in the labor and production markets.
 Contributions from this program, which has increased the number of Emirati citizens working in the private sector by 217% since its launch in September 2021.
He further mentioned the increase of remote work as an emerging job model in the UAE labor market.
He said that the UAE has actively responded to the global developments caused by advanced technology and has placed itself at the forefront of the digital revolution today. The UAE is guided by a strategy that seeks to double the share of the digital economy in GDP from 9.7% in 2022 to 19.4% over the next decade.
Al-Awar noted that the labor market of the United Arab Emirates, which employs workers from about 200 different nationalities, is at the forefront of global labor markets in various competitiveness indicators.
