Officials at the World Congress of Installations announce the third edition of the World Congress of Installations 2024 to be held in Abu Dhabi.
According To Amac News: The congress brings together global ministers, CEOs and industry pioneers to address critical challenges in energy transition, grid modernization and water security.
Suhail Mohammed Al Mazrouei said the UAE, along with the private sector, has invested AED 150 billion locally, of which AED 45 billion has been invested in renewable energy projects.
The UAE plans to invest another Dh500 billion in the overall energy sector over the next 30 years to achieve its net-zero goal, according to Al-Mazrouei.
He added that the UAE currently has 6 GW of solar energy, 110 MW of wind and 5.6 GW of nuclear energy, making the country's grid the cleanest in the Middle East in terms of carbon intensity.
In 2023, the UAE’s share of clean energies will reach 27.8 percent of the energy mix, and the country is targeting more than 30 percent by 2030.
The UAE has doubled its renewable capacity since 2019 and plans to triple installed capacity to more than 14 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030.
The congress brought together international industry leaders who drove the dialogue in the field of inter-industry cooperation around the world.
Water security was also in the spotlight with the Global Leadership Panel titled “Maintaining Water Security” where Sabrina Susan, Chairman of the Board and CEO of SUEZ, and other experts addressed the pressing issue of water scarcity.
Throughout the three-day event, the Innovation Expo will feature cutting-edge technologies and new products from international exhibitors. The showcase is a hub of creativity and provides a platform for startups and established players to deliver solutions that will shape the future of the water and electricity industry.
