According to Amac News: AD Ports Group's announcement states that this report shows the commitment of AD Ports Group, as an entity admitted to the Abu Dhabi Stock Exchange, to share performance with shareholders and transparency in operations.
As a key player in the maritime, industrial and logistics sectors, the group's initiatives are aligned with the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the sustainability goals set by Abu Dhabi and the United Arab Emirates, the statement said.
This report examines the group's journey, partnerships and joint efforts that aspire to shape a more sustainable and resilient future for all.
The group also received several prestigious awards for its environmental, social and governance (ESG) activities throughout the year from the United Nations, Harvard Business Council, International Business Award and Abu Dhabi Sustainable Business Leadership Award, among others.
The 2023 sustainability report has reported a 7% reduction in the intensity of electricity consumption.
These improvements were among a broader set of sustainability gains that included a 174 percent increase in the amount of solid waste recycled.
Solar PV power generation capacity integrated into its 2023 operation has helped reduce 5,000 tons of CO2 equivalent using clean energy.
The group has planned solar PV integration projects at Port Khalifa, Port Zayed and its headquarters in Abu Dhabi, and at a multipurpose port operation in Safaga, Egypt, which the group manages under the concession of the Egyptian Red Sea Ports Authority.
