The World Green Economy Summit 2024 was held
According to Amac News: In the announcement of the Supreme Energy Council of Dubai, it is stated that this summit had a special focus on climate financing as a central axis.
The issue of climate finance, recognized as a key driver for increasing climate resilience, has been a major topic of discussion among global leaders, experts and green finance professionals, according to the announcement.
According to the Global Climate Finance Outlook 2023 report by the Climate Policy Initiative, global investments in climate projects will increase to $1.3 trillion between 2021 and 2022.
The tenth edition of this summit is based on the results of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28), which was held last year by the United Arab Emirates in Expo City Dubai.
One of the important achievements of COP28 was the historic consensus of the United Arab Emirates, which set a new path for international climate action through a comprehensive agenda.
At COP28, the UAE introduced the ALTERRA Fund, designed to rapidly mobilize capital to activate the components of a new climate economy.
The fund will allocate approximately 92 billion dirhams to support climate investments that will accelerate the transition to a resilient and climate-neutral economy.
