Amac News: Abdul Salam Muhammad Al Ali, Minister Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the World Trade Organization (WTO), at the "Business Technology Interviews: Thinker, Innovator and Builder" meeting about the impact of artificial intelligence tools on global trade spoke.
In his speech, he said that the integration of artificial intelligence in business systems opens up new levels of efficiency, predictability and flexibility and makes global business faster and smarter.
The UAE representative at the World Trade Organization added that TradeTech is essentially about removing barriers, which limit market access and increase costs.
The TradeTech session was organized by the World Economic Forum, the UAE Ministry of Economy and the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) and was moderated by Rupa Ganguli, Founder and CEO of Inclusive Trade.
The TradeTech initiative was launched by the Ministry of Economy and the Department of Economic Development of Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2023 with the aim of inspiring the integration of advanced technologies throughout the global supply chain.
The first year of this initiative led to the creation of the first Technology Trade Report and the opening of the Technology Trade Forum in Abu Dhabi, which coincided with the 13th WTO Ministerial Conference.
The second phase of the initiative now sees the development of a Regulatory Sandbox for Artificial Intelligence in Trade Finance and an accelerator to foster new solutions that enhance the role of technology in business.
