According to
Amac News: In the statement of the Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC), it is stated that this project is located in Al Dhafra, Al Zarraf District, in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
According to the statement, Al Zarraf solar PV project is a green solar energy project with a production capacity of 1.5 GW AC and it will be similar to Al Dhafra Solar PV, Al Ajban Solar PV and Khazna Solar PV in terms of scale and production capacity.
The project will generate enough electricity for approximately 160,000 homes across the UAE, reducing CO2 emissions by more than 2.4 million tonnes per year and increasing EWEC's total solar power capacity to around 7 GW AC.
Al Zarraf Solar PV is EWEC's fifth world-leading solar PV project, supporting the acceleration of renewable and clean energy capacity in the UAE under EWEC's strategic plan to build an annual average of 1.4 GW of new solar PV capacity between 2037-2027.
EWEC predicts that by 2030, more than 50% of Abu Dhabi's electricity demand will come from renewable and clean energy sources, and by 2035, 60% of Abu Dhabi's total electricity demand will come from renewable and clean energy sources.
