The UAE Aviation Department has announced in a statement that it has celebrated the UAE National Aviation Day.

According to Amac News: The UAE Aviation Department said in a statement that October 5 marks the anniversary of the first plane landing in the UAE.
In 1930 the first airport in the Arabian Gulf region was established. Emirates has six national airlines that have a reputation for luxury, quality, security and safety. During the first eight months of this year, our domestic airlines operated 4,807 weekly flights to multiple destinations around the world.
Emirates has 10 airports, including 8 international airports, which are among the best and busiest airports in the world. These airports handled more than 97.9 million passengers in the first eight months of this year, representing a 12.6% growth compared to 86.9 million passengers in the same period last year.
Abdullah bin Touq Al-Mari, Minister of Economy and Chairman of the GCAA Board, said the aviation sector of the sector today serves as an essential pillar for national economic growth and enhances its competitiveness at the regional and international levels.
The UAE is known globally for the rapid growth of its aviation infrastructure, which accounted for less than 1 percent of GDP when the country was founded in 1971, while today the sector is up to 13.3 percent of its GDP. 
The air transport market in the UAE is expected to grow by 170% over the next twenty years, adding 101 million passenger flights by 2037, according to estimates by the International Air Transport Association (IATA),This will also support growth.
Sheikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) who said Dubai International Airport stands as a global model for growth and quality. The airport serves more than 90 million international passengers annually.
