The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced that it has participated in a campaign to plant mangrove trees in the Jebel Ali Marine Sanctuary.
DEWA joins mangrove planting in Dubai
According to Amac News: In the announcement of the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, it is stated that DEWA has organized this campaign in cooperation with the Emirates Marine Environment Group (EMEG) to plant 4500 mangrove trees.
According to the announcement, employees of DEWA and its subsidiaries as well as students of DEWA Academy also participated in the campaign.
The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority has said it supports a national initiative to plant 100 million mangrove trees in the UAE by 2030.
In 2023, DEWA has planted more than 5,500 mangrove trees in the Jebel Ali Marine Sanctuary with the participation of 1,000 DEWA employees and their families, as well as employees of some DEWA subsidiaries and DEWA Academy students.
