According to Amac News: The announcement states that the UAE delegation headed by Mohammad Bin Hadi Al-Husseini, Minister of State for Finance, participated in this meeting.
Mohammad bin Hadi al-Husseini said in this meeting that the BRICS countries are committed to strengthening South-South cooperation.
He called for innovative initiatives in payment and financing mechanisms in local currencies to help stabilize reserves and reduce the risk of currency fluctuations.
As part of the BRICS Financial and Economic Summit held in Moscow from October 9-11, participants attended various events, including a high-level panel on strengthening the international financial and monetary system and a brainstorming session on the same topic.
The UAE officially joined the BRICS group in January 2024, after the five founding countries of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa ratified it. This decision was announced at the 15th BRICS summit held in Johannesburg from August 22 to 24, 2023.
As a member of BRICS, the UAE intends to strengthen cooperation and economic partnership with member countries and strengthen its role as a global hub and multilateral partner.
As an important economic player in BRICS, the United Arab Emirates supports the interests of emerging and developing countries in the international arena.
