According to Amac News: The announcement states that this figure is equivalent to 27% of Dubai's gross domestic product.
According to the announcement, Dubai's aviation sector consists of the Emirates Group, Dubai International Airports and other entities in the aviation sector.
These figures are expected to rise steadily, as aviation activities by the Emirates and Dubai Airports contribute AED 196 billion, or 32% of Dubai's projected GDP by 2030.
Aviation activities have also created 631,000 jobs across Dubai, equivalent to one in five jobs in the UAE in 2023. An additional 185,000 aviation-related jobs are expected to be created by 2030, bringing the total number of jobs supported by Dubai's aviation sector to 816,000.
Backed by strong air connectivity, Dubai has a prominent presence on the global stage for trade, investment, tourism and is a leading player in aviation and logistics.
The new airport and its surrounding infrastructure will contribute to Dubai's economic agenda (D33), which aims to strengthen the UAE's business and tourism footprint.
D33's progressive development plans also seek to make Dubai one of the most connected cities by adding 400 destinations to its foreign trade map and making it one of the top five logistics hubs in the world.
