Amac News: The group said in the announcement that based on this cooperation agreement, Sanad will provide comprehensive MRO services for V2500 engines and strengthen Sanad's global leadership in the MRO sector and commitment to providing high quality services.
The centerpiece of this collaboration is the V2500 engine, developed by International Aero Engine, which has been a cornerstone of aviation since it entered the market in 1989.
As of 2023, more than 5,200 V2500 engines are in service worldwide, demonstrating its continued relevance in modern aviation.
Sanad will use its advanced facilities in Abu Dhabi to service Lion Air Group's V2500 engine fleet. Having completed more than 250 V2500 induction motors in the last five years, the group has remained the only V2500 overhaul service provider in the Middle East since 2012.
The new cooperation agreement consolidates Sanad's position as a leading independent service provider and as a reliable partner for the world's leading airlines.
Lion Air Group, one of the largest fleets in Southeast Asia, currently operates a fleet of 310 aircraft.
The airline has extended its contract to include MRO services for V2500 engines used by Super Air Jet and Batik Air, both subsidiaries of Lion Air Group. Together, these airlines operate more than 65 aircraft with V2500 engines.
The five-year contract will include multiple MRO service visits for the V2500 engine, with first induction scheduled for Q4 2024.
